Imported fonts: Overview.
With Monotype Fonts, you can manage both—our standard inventory and your imported font collection—using the same font-management dashboard instead of having to rely upon multiple font-management tools or struggle with keeping track of licensing for all your font purchases.
Imported fonts. Made simple.
Import, share and manage your existing font collection1 alongside Monotype’s font inventory.
With full support for imported fonts, Company Admins can upload their existing font collection to their Monotype Fonts account, share access, and track and manage licensing—all with one, unified font-management experience. Creatives can sync and design using their favorite fonts seamlessly—whether they’re creating with fresh finds or fonts they are used to working with.
Imported fonts can be defined as:
-
Non-Monotype fonts: Fonts you’ve purchased, or plan to purchase, from another font foundry.
-
Monotype custom-designed: Fonts custom-designed for your brand by the Monotype Studio.
These are also denoted by a different icon than Monotype fonts for easy recognition at-a-glance.
Why Monotype Fonts for your imported font collection?
By importing your existing fonts to your Monotype Fonts account, you can manage both—all of our standard inventory and your imported font collection—using the same font-management dashboard instead of having to rely upon multiple font-management tools or struggle with monitoring usage and keeping track of licensing for all your font purchases.
You can import both desktop fonts and web fonts, so you don’t need to worry about hosting your non-Monotype web fonts on other content management platforms — it can all be done in Monotype Fonts.
Get started with imported fonts
Head to the Imported Fonts tab in the Manage section of the Monotype Fonts platform to start importing and managing your collection of imported fonts.
Once a Company Admin imports a font, all users in a Company can search, share and download them just like you would any other font from the standard Monotype Fonts inventory.
