Mika Melvas began his career as an art director and graphic designer in advertising agencies and experimented with type on the side. Following his passion, Mika worked hard to guide his career towards becoming a full-time type designer and lettering artist. His library now spans a typographic range from extra bold slab serifs to his more signature style of playful brush script fonts.
Authenia
Authenia is an organic, authentic and laid-back script. It appears casually and quickly written with a brush pen on a paper. There is just the right amount of texture so the fonts are effective typeset in both small and large sizes!
Fineday
Fineday is a clean brush script available with two different styles of uppercases: Style One is swashy and decorative while Style Two is more plain and straightforward. Fineday is also available with connected and unconnected lowercase sets. All the Fineday versions have fancy alternate characters like ending swashes, tales and swashy ascenders.
Monteria
Monteria is a clean brush script font designed to have an easy flow and soft forms. The basic letters are designed to simple and readable, but can be dressed up with plenty of alternates. It’s suitable for logos, titles, t-shirts, packages and more.
Mainsail
A handwritten brush script font, Mainsail was written with a dry brush pen, so it has this nice texture and flow. Mainsail has lots of alternates to make it look more like real handwriting; four sets of lower cases and two sets of upper cases. Mainsail is great option for logos, headlines and packaging. You can also use it in longer texts where you need this casual handwritten look. It also combines well with sans and serif fonts.
Handelson
Handelson is a collection of 6 handmade typefaces with an authentic and organic feel. It contains three scripts, one non-connected script and two all caps geometric sans serifs. Textures and rough edges simulate handwritten and printed looks. By combining these fonts you can make diverse typographic solutions and elements with a unified style.
Lemonado
Lemonado includes upright and italic scripts and all caps fonts with brush texture or with smooth edges. The script is a playful, slightly bouncing and connecting script. It includes two sets of lower cases to increase the handwriting effect. With contextual alternates, you can cycle these two sets to achieve variation to achieve a more natural look. You can also enable contextual alternate for the caps style, which has two sets of upper case letters, high and low, to achieve a fun-looking bouncing effect.
Bakeshop
Bakeshop is a casual script font family drawn with a rounded marker, producing low contrast. To create a convincing natural look, it even has the bumps at the end of strokes where the pen has stopped and the ink has spread. Bakeshop includes three weights and has both connecting and non-connecting versions.
Kaleidos
Kaleidos is a lining and clean brush script with soft and round letterforms. It is sketched and drawn with a pointed brush pen. Kaleidos has plenty of alternates, ligatures and swashes so you can build interesting-looking words and headlines. While Kaleidos is condensed and quite tightly spaced, it is clear and legible.
Ahkio
Rooted in 1930’s sign painting and showcard lettering, Ahkio is a brushed disconnected script family of 5 fonts. It’s main characteristics are soft, rounded forms and a bit curved stems. Ahkio is a friendly and gentle font that suits well in titles, packages, logos and for example posters. 5 weights makes Ahkio a versatile font that allows you to add contrast and interest to your typography.
Suti
Suti is a non-connected sign painter’s casual script with upper and lower cases. Originally designed in 2010, it was completely re-drawn in 2016. Every sign painter has more or less their own Casual Lettering style. These casual alphabets are painted with speed and they don’t need to line up perfectly but letters are still clean and easy to read.
Sideroad
Sideroad is an intensive hand-drawn brush script font. It comes in two versions: textured and smooth. The textured version has this rough effect that comes when letters are drawn with a pointed brush on a rugged surface. The smooth version is, like the name says, smooth as silk with polished edges. Use the corresponding underlines to give that final punch to your design.
Buinton
Designed to be noble and vintage, Buinton is a script typeface with serifs at the beginnings of the strokes and swash capitals. It has also a bunch of tails with different shapes and widths to give the vintage logotype or sports look to your design.
Signalist
Signalist is a dynamic and energetic brush script. The tight spacing, narrow letters and sharp edges and gives Signalist its distinctive looks and character. It is suitable for designs that need a script with a contemporary feel. You can use it on logos, t-shirts, packages, as a title font… you name it!
